Greenkeeper's Report
April 2013
Dear Golfers,
As I write, there is again an inch of snow covering the course, not great for playing, not to mention trying to work on! But since I last reported, we have managed to achieve a few things on the course.
We now have a new bunker on the right of 7th. We have proved this is a great place for a bunker with the amount of times we have nearly been hit while making it! It will be open for play in 3-4 weeks time, once the new turf has settled and rooted in.
We have also re shaped the 10th bunker to match with the rest on the course. Again, once the turf has rooted, this will be open. We have also started on the fairway bunker on the 16th. The whole course, other than the semi rough, has had its first mow of the season. We have tried to commence with our spring greens week but we can’t complete such jobs with snow covering the greens.
Here’s hoping the weather will take a turn for the better in the coming days.
