So, how did you two meet?

We first crossed paths in 2007 while working a weekend job at PC World in Leeds City Centre. At the time, Bori was studying for her A-Levels in preparation for medical school, while Aimon was a student at the University of Leeds. Although we didn't talk much back then, fate brought us back together a decade later we reconnected after Bori returned to Leeds following her medical exams. Our first date at Angelica was a memorable success, despite Aimon showing up in a blue leopard print jacket!

When did you know they were 'the one'/how did they pop the question?

They say that when you marry, you marry into the family. For us our future together seemed destined after we not only fell in love with each other, but also with each others' family. Bori had a feeling that Aimon would propose, probably because of all of the ring-related questions, but Aimon proposed when Bori least expected after returning home from a meal in Leeds City Centre. Bori seemed genuinely surprised but was quick to say YES!

What was the biggest MUST HAVE for your wedding?

For us, entertainment was a top priority. We wanted our guests to enjoy the day just as much as us, so we arranged for a classical ensemble to play live music throughout the day, an award winning magician for the wedding breakfast and evening, and a band with vocalist to put on a show into the night.

Other than saying 'I do', what is the most unforgettable moment from the day?

As we were about to walk out of the chapel as newlyweds, we heard the rain beginning just as our guests were getting ready with their confetti cannons. We stepped outside into a brief downpour that lasted only a few minutes. It was likely the only rain of the day—how typical! Every time we reminisce with our guests they always mention the rain on our wedding day and how it represents good luck.

Which supplier was a real stand out for you? The unsung star who deserves a special mention.

Event Music Company was exceptional from beginning to end, both in the planning stages and on our wedding day. We first met Chris and Lucinda at a wedding fair at Rudding Park in 2020, and immediately knew they had to be part of our celebration. They helped create unforgettable moments, such as when they played Bulgarian music during our wedding breakfast, a request that had our guests dancing and singing along. It was a wonderful touch that truly showcased their commitment to making our day uniquely special.

What was it in your eyes that gives Rudding Park the WOW factor?

Rudding Park has always held a special place in our hearts, with many memorable moments spent at the hotel, restaurants, and spa. Naturally, it was the ideal choice for our wedding. The stunning on-site chapel, a true gem, served as the perfect setting for our ceremony.

How did you style your space? Did your wedding day have a theme?

We arranged the dance floor, stage, and musical entertainment at the heart of the Radcliffe Room, accentuating the space with extensive lighting on the pillars, walls, and ceiling, all provided by the Event Music Company. Our beautiful wedding cake, provided by Sweet Valentine Bakery, was showcased in the centre of the room, adorned with our custom cake topper. We chose a colour scheme of navy, silver, and gold for our stationery, and named each table after places we had visited together, complete with a QR code for guests to scan and share their captured moments. The resident florist and her team elegantly decorated the chapel, staircase, and Radcliffe Room with white hydrangeas, perfectly complementing the season.

What is your funniest memory from the day?

The top tier of our wedding cake fell off due to the weight of the topper during Tim Lichfield's magical performance. At first it as shock which quickly turned into laughter as Tim worked the moment wonderfully into his performance. Fortunately he captured it on camera and sent us the video after the wedding - Bori's reaction is priceless!

What's the best advice you could give to couples who are about to tie the knot at Rudding Park?

Relax and enjoy the day! You've been building up to this moment for months, now it's time to take it all in and enjoy the occasion with your friends and family. Everyone will want to speak with you and take photos with you, so have a think about how you can accommodate those requests as the day will pass by quickly!

And finally, we'd love to hear about your experience with Rudding Park....

Is it possible for us to get married at Rudding Park again?! The entire engagement with Rudding Park has been an absolute pleasure. Though the wedding itself is just one day, the build-up to the event was a fantastic experience having attended a menu taster session, stayed over and the venue several times, and dealt with so many wonderful staff whose diligence and care help made the day unforgettable.
